PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device or the like for visualizing luster unevenness, which supports to identify a place with luster unevenness, for a medium having an irregular pattern on the surface, by visualizing the luster unevenness by use of height field data of the medium. SOLUTION: In the device 1 for visualizing luster unevenness, an angular information calculation means 21 estimates a height filed as a minute mirror plane and calculates an elevation value of normal of the mirror plane as angular information by use of the height field data 27. An angular information statistics calculation means 23 calculates an average valueαof elevation value of normal of pixels contained in a filter range set as an area having a fixed range and dispersionσ<SB>i, j</SB>or standard deviationσthereof as statistic data 29. The dispersionσ<SB>i, j</SB>or standard deviationσis normalized to an integer of 0 to 225 or an integer of 0 or 1, and an image is output as a gray scale image or binary image, whereby the luster unevenness of the medium surface is visualized.
