PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a therapeutic and/or prophylactic agent for arteriosclerosis by developing further efficacy of marine crystal minerals and effectively using a marine mineral component containing an essential trace element.

SOLUTION: The therapeutic and/or prophylactic agent for arteriosclerosis comprises the marine crystal minerals (MCM) as active ingredients, provided that the marine crystal minerals comprise a residue containing a chelated mineral component and is obtained by treating concentrated seawater containing an organic component derived from picoplankton in seawater and a mineral component chelated with the organic component with acetic acid and removing sodium chloride and a poisonous component.
