<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a registration device for an individual authentication system using fingerprint information, capable of improving the efficiency of individual authentication in individual authentication techniques by performing pattern discrimination by use of a lower part of a fingerprint image in registration and assigning a verification priority order according the type of pattern, thereby allowing verification using the verification priority order in verification. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The device includes: a registered person fingerprint feature data extraction part 101 which extracts registrant fingerprint feature data from a registrant fingerprint image sampled by a registration fingerprint information input part 100; a registrant fingerprint classification information extraction part 102 which extracts registrant fingerprint classification information from the registrant fingerprint image sampled by the input part 100; a verification priority order determination processing part 310 which determines and outputs a verification priority order according to the registrant fingerprint classification information; and a verification data generation part 121 which writes verification data to a storage part 52 capable of storing data while associating the registrant fingerprint feature data, the registrant fingerprint classification information and the verification priority order.
