<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide pipe joint structure and a pipe joint method achieving desired caulking strength and processing simplification by using a socket having a curve part and a straight-line part. Ž<P>SOLUTION: An evaporator 1 includes inlet/outlet side refrigerant flow passages 10, 11, inlet/outlet pipes 14, 15, the cylindrical socket 12, and a flat-plate-like connection plate 13. A connection part 121 of the socket 12 has the straight-line part 72 having a straight-line shape and a circular curve part 71.
