PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vertical roller mill indicating high crushing efficiency regarding a coal of low quality and a petroleum coke, capable of largely enhancing a ratio of pulverization and performing stable operation with less vibration even at low load operation. SOLUTION: A slit groove 21 of a first group a inclined in one direction relative to a roller rotation direction and a slit groove 21 of a second group b inclined in another direction are mixedly formed on respective outer peripheral surfaces of a plurality of crushing rollers 20. On a drive table 10, a third slit groove in a direction crossing to a table rotation direction is formed on an annular table crushing surface for biting/crushing a material between the crushing roller 20 and it at a predetermined pitch in the rotation direction.
