DISPOSABLE DIAPER

A disposable diaper (10) includes an elastic waist panel (11) having an elastic front waist panel (18) for defining a front waist region (13) and also having an elastic rear waist panel (19) for defining a rear waist region (14), and also includes an absorptive chassis (12) mounted to the elastic waist panel (11) and having an liquid absorptive core (28).  The front and rear waist panels (18, 19) comprise stretchable sheets (20, 21) located on the side making contact with a wearer's skin.  Front and rear ends of the absorptive chassis (12) are mounted to that side of the stretchable sheets (20, 21) which is on the side not making contact with the wearer's skin.  At least in the rear waist region (14) of the front and rear waist regions (13, 14), some of those portions of the stretchable sheet (20, 21) which face the absorptive core (28) have formed therein a low-stretchability region (30a, 30b) having lower stretch stress than the remaining portions of the stretchable sheets (20, 21).
