The method involves determining overlapping areas of inner envelopes (10, 11). A movement path of a holding system i.e. C-arc, is determined such that an inner envelopes of a holding system lies within the areas. A test cycle of the holding system is implemented without application of x-rays along a movement path. A verification of the test cycle is made whether there is a collision of the holding system with an examination object (14). Recording of multiple projection images of the object on two rotation paths is implemented, when the system is not collided with the object. An independent claim is also included for an x-ray device for implementing the method for recording the projection image.
