The gear motor (1) has a drive shaft (10), an output shaft (50) lying on the same axis and planetary gears (20,30,40) connected to the drive and output shaft. A reflector (R) is provided at the front side (51) of the output shaft (50) facing the drive shaft in order to reflect a light beam (L) of a transmitter (S) outgoing to a receiver (E). The reflector is arranged such that the light beam is reflected closely to a position of the rotating output shaft on the receiver.
