摘要

Enhancement of an image includ es adjusting its brightness and then adjusting the contrast of the brightness adjusted image. Adjusti ng the brightness uses an estimation of real world luminance. Contrast adjustment involves extracting ba ckground and contrast information, adjusting the contrast inform ation by an adjustment factor based on the background information and combining the back ground corrected contrast information to obtain an output image.
