PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid detergent composition for a dishwasher, the composition having favorable cleaning power on protein stains or the like and preventing stains of pigments such as tea stains caused by repeated use. SOLUTION: The liquid detergent composition for a dishwasher contains a polymer compound having a structural unit derived from a vinyl monomer having a cationic group and a structural unit derived from maleic acid or its salt in the molecule, with a proportion of the cationic group to the anionic group in the range of (cationic group)/(anionic group)=30/70 to 70/30 in terms of an equivalent ratio, having a weight-average molecular weight of 5,000 to 100,000 and containing no SO<SB>2</SB>group.
