<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive optical ranging sensor which is made compact and has higher accuracy in measurement and an electronic device comprising the same. Ž<P>SOLUTION: An optical ranging sensor incldues a light-receiving element 2 provided on the same plane as a light-emitting element. The light-receiving element 2 includes a light-receiving section 21 having a plurality of cells 21A, where a light emitted from the light-emitting element 1 and reflected with an object to be measured is condensed, a flash memory section 25 memorizing a predetermined position in the light-receiving section 21, and a signal processing circuit section 22 detecting a light-condensing position of the light in the light-receiving section 21 based on the results of detection of the light by the plurality of cells 21A and measuring a distance to the object to be measured based on the relative positional relationship between the predetermined position memorized in the flash memory section 25 and the light-condensing position of the light in the light-receiving section 21.
