AUTO SNAPSHOT METHOD AND DEVICE

<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an auto snapshot method and a device for reducing an unnecessary resource overload and improving efficiency of a system. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The automatic snapshot method includes the steps of: acquiring an amount of data written in a source logical unit number (LUN) and incrementally accumulating it and obtaining the snapshot when the value of the increment accumulation exceeds the upper limit value. In one embodiment, the snapshot is obtained according to a variation of the changed data quantity. Only two characteristic parameters of an upper limit value and an increment value are needed.
