<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid state detection sensor capable of being mounted to a urea water tank made of resin. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A base part 40 and a protective outer tube 10 of the liquid state detection sensor 100 are made of resin and integrally molded, and the sensor 100 is reduced in weight, in comparison with a base part and a protective outer tube of a liquid state detection sensor made of metal. The base part 40 made of resin is provided with a plurality of ribs 47 which are reinforcing members. Since a connecting structure which would be required when the base part 40 and the protective outer tube 10 are formed separately, is not required, it is possible to lower the production cost and enhance the strength, while they are being made of resin. The liquid state detecting sensor 100 forms a capacitor, of which the electrostatic capacitance changes according to the liquid level between an internal electrode 20 provided for the inside of the protective outer tube 10 and an auxiliary electrode 19, which is provided in such a way as to be come into contact with a liquid and detects the liquid level, on the basis of the electrostatic capacitance.
