PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a binder composition for an electric double-layer capacitor electrode, wherein the adhesiveness with a collector is superior, and an electric double-layer capacitor can be provided that holds the high-discharging capacity, even under recycling or under an high-temperature environment due to heating, or the like, at charge/discharge time. SOLUTION: The binder composition for an electric double-layer capacitor electrode contains 0.1-20 wt.% of epoxy group-containing ethylene unsaturated monomer and/or amide group-containing ethylene unsaturated monomer, 0.1-5 wt.% of alkoxysilyl group-containing ethylene unsaturated monomer and/or N-methylol group-containing ethylene unsaturated monomer, 0.1-10 wt.% of at least one kind of monomer selected from a group consisting of carboxyl group-containing ethylene unsaturated monomer; tertiary butyl group-containing ethylene unsaturated monomer; sulfonic acid group-containing ethylene unsaturated monomer and phosphorous acid group-containing ethylene unsaturated monomer; and cross-linked emulsion composed by emulsion polymerization of ethylene unsaturated monomers other than the monomers.
