The machine has a washing compartment (SPB) and a sorption drying system (TS) for drying goods to be washed. The drying system has a sorption compartment (SB) with reversibly dehydrogenatable sorption material. The sorption compartment is connected to the washing compartment through an air guiding channel (LK) to produce an air flow (LS1). The channel is coupled to the sorption compartment such that the flow enters the sorption compartment in an inflow direction (ESR), and passes into a throughflow direction (DSR) along which the flow flows via an inner side of the sorption compartment.
