The method involves supplying an identification flow to a participant of a bus system (1), where the identification flow is conducted by an electrical resistance, which is associated with non-addressed participant e.g. master (2), and slaves (4-6). Voltage at the associated electrical resistance is determined for each participant. An address is associated to the participant for addressing purposes. Voltage value of the participant is differentiated from voltage value of another participant at a predetermined threshold, and the addressed participant short-circuits the electrical resistance.
