PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus improved in the security of stored image data. SOLUTION: A control part receives a request for forming an image from a personal computer (S11). At this time, the image data input from the personal computer is stored in a DRAM (S12). The control part allows an image forming part to form the image, based on the image data stored in the DRAM, so as to output the image to a form (S13). When detecting form shortage error (S14), the control part determines whether the image data stored in the DRAM exists or not. When it is determined that the image data stored in the DRAM exists (YES in S15), the control part performs a prescribed operation to protect the security of the stored image data (S18).
