PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a lubricant noncorrosive and washable when a coolant or the lubricant is supplied to a part to be cut in cutting work of a metal. SOLUTION: Among metals to be cut or ground, aluminum requires high cleanliness of a ground finished surface because it is often subjected to surface treatment such as alumite treatment. An emulsion type metalworking fluid formulation is prepared as a metalworking fluid formulation having good lubricating performance and containing a coolant and a lubricant stuck to a surface to be ground which are easily washed off by using a plant-derived oil and pure water having low corrosiveness as base components and adding an emulsifier to the base components. When a metal surface is ground with the metalworking fluid formulation, the emulsifier sticking to the ground surface can be washed off with water within 24 h and no stain remains.
