<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically determine a light source type to mitigate a control minimum limit of a white balance control when a mercury-vapor lamp light source has a large effect, and to change a weighting of an illuminance, thereby controlling to suppress a generation of an unnatural coloring in the mercury-vapor lamp light source. Ž<P>SOLUTION: When the illuminance is low, so that an image capturing apparatus can determine as a night view photographing mode or a night view photographing, and also the mercury-vapor lamp light source has a large effect, a minimum limit value of the white balance control is reduced (mitigated), and also a weighting of a mercury-vapor lamp area is changed by the illuminance, thereby reducing a tendency that an image under photographing is colored green by the mercury-vapor lamp light source.
