The method involves supplying injection voltages to a piezoactuator (120) during respective injection times, and operating a control unit (130) by the piezoactuator during the injection times. The piezoactuator is supplied with a holding voltage during a holding time, where the holding time temporally follows one of the injection times. The piezoactuator is supplied with a ground voltage during an idle period, where the ground voltage is smaller than one of the injection voltages and the idle period temporally follows another injection time. An independent claim is also included for a control device for executing a method for controlling an injector.
