<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a damping element for a golf club, having a shaft sealing a damping member such as a chamber filled with a fluid or a polymer foam member. <P>SOLUTION: The damping element 40 is utilized for reducing the amplitude of vibration within the golf club 10. The damping member 40 may be positioned within an interior void of the shaft 20 of the golf club 10 and may exhibit a shape that corresponds with a shape of the void within the shaft 20.
