PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an azo pigment and a pigment dispersion excellent in chromatic characteristics such as optical density and hue and also excellent in fastness such as light fastness.

SOLUTION: There are provided azo pigments represented by general formula (1), tautomers thereof, and salts or hydrates thereof. In general formula (1), G is a hydrogen atom, an aliphatic group, an aryl group, a heterocyclic group, an acyl group, an aliphatic oxycarbonyl group, a carbamoyl group, or a sulfonyl group; R1is an amino group or an aliphatic oxy group; R2is a substituent; A is a group containing a heterocyclic 5-membered ring having 1-3 ring nitrogen atoms; m is an integer of 0-5; and n is an integer of 1-4, provided that when n=2, it is a dimer formed through R1, R2, A or G. when n=3, the formula is a trimer formed through R1, R2, A or G; and when n=4, it is a tetramer formed through R1, R2, A or G.
