PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem wherein in performing line displacing for image data in the sub-scanning direction as correction for registration displacing, when line displacing line is performed at the same main scanning pixel position in each line, a line displacing portion stands out to deteriorate the image quality, and although a pixel is added to the front and the rear of the displacing portion for correction to make the line displacing portion inconspicuous, when line displacing always at the same main scanning pixel position, toner is concentrated on the displacing portion by additional pixels so that a drum is contaminated and partial deterioration is liable to occur locally. SOLUTION: Line displacing pixel position is not fixed, but moved line by line or page by page, whereby when a pixel is not added, image quality is improved and when a pixel is added, concentration of toner is prevented.
