PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a monitoring system of a conveyor belt having a wide reception/transmission range of a detection unit, and low risk of breakage of the detection unit due to vertical tearing of the conveyor belt. SOLUTION: A detection unit 2 comprising an antenna 11 and an internal unit 12 is provided to a conveyor belt, and the internal unit 12 is constituted with a sensor 16 detecting a physical amount received by the conveyor belt, a memory 14 storing data obtained from the sensor 16, and a reception/transmission unit 13 radio-transmitting the data stored in the memory 14 outside the conveyor belt. A device for receiving the data transmitted from the reception/transmission unit 13 is provide outside the conveyor belt.
