摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stress adjuster for a shape memory alloy which is capable of adjusting stress when the shape memory alloy is built in with high accuracy. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The stress adjuster for the shape memory alloy built in an object to be driven includes: a tension applying means applying tension to the shape memory alloy built in the object to be driven; a tension detecting means detecting the tension of the shape memory alloy built in the object to be driven; a wire diameter detecting means detecting the wire diameter of the shape memory alloy built in the object to be driven; and a control means controlling the operation of the tension applying means. The control means calculates the tension applied to the shape memory alloy based on reference stress applied to the shape memory alloy and the wire diameter detected by the wire diameter detecting means and controls the operation of the tension applying means, so that the tension detected by the tension detecting means equals the calculated tension to be applied.
