<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a die assembly for press working and a press device with which the occurrence of galling and the damage of a workpiece can be suppressed. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The die assembly 18 for press working is provided with: a die 12; and a die holder 16 for fixing the die by surrounding the side face 12b of the die 12. A plurality of load sensors 20 for detecting load generated on the side face of the die are two-dimensionally arranged between the side face of the die 12 and the die holder 16. In this die assembly, the distribution of eccentric load in the horizontal direction adding to the die, which is a direct cause of the galling and the damage of the workpiece, is measured. By correcting the die on the basis of the measured load distribution, or by adjusting the alignment between the die and a press punch, the occurrence of the galling and the damage of the workpiece can be suppressed.
