PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a contact detector capable of distinguishing between contact with the human body and contact with waterdrops accurately. SOLUTION: The contact detector detects contact of the human body with an object being a dielectric substance, when the contact occurs, The contact detector includes: a detection means including a plurality of capacitance sensors which are arranged close to each other on the same surface inside the object, and each detects contact by detecting a change in capacitance; and a determination means for determining whether the human body is in contact with the object based on a pattern of contact detection of capacitance sensors having detected contact. The determination means determines that the human body is in contact with the object, if all of capacitance sensors contained in one area on the detection means detect the contact approximately simultaneously, and the number of the capacitance sensors being in the area is a predetermined number, and the positions of the capacitance sensors having detected contact do not move during a predetermined period of time.
