PANEL FOR EXTERNAL HEAT INSULATION

A panel for external heat insulation is provided which has sufficient strength, water retentivity, and freeze-thaw resistance and is inexpensive and lightweight. The panel for external heat insulation (1) has a structure obtained by uniting a surface layer (2) to an insulating board (3) by compression molding.  The surface layer (2) has a thickness of 5-60 mm, a dry-state specific gravity of 0.4-1.2, and a water retentivity of 20-50% by volume.  The surface layer is constituted of a porous aggregate (4) having a capillary continuous structure and bonded together by means of a hydrophilic bonding ingredient, e.g., cement.  The insulating board (3) is constituted of a closed-cell resin foam, e.g., a polystyrene foam.
