Shaker for fruit harvesting the shaking patterns of which are changeable while the shaker is continuously operating is disclosed. The vibrating mechanism of the shaker comprises at least three eccentric rotators, the rotational speed of each of which is respectively controlled. Furthermore the instantaneous rotational angle of each rotator is continuously monitored. A method for suitably selecting the rotational speeds of each rotator and the relative rotational phases associated with selected pairs of rotators, such that a desired shaking pattern is accomplished, is further disclosed. Measuring the instantaneous rotational angle of each rotator provides for controlling the levels of relative rotational phase associated with selected pairs of rotators. |
