The package has two polystyrene foam elements (10, 12) provided for receiving a household appliance (14) i.e. induction hob. A grip body (24) is molded at an external side (22) of one of the polystyrene foam elements (12). An outer package (26) made from cardboard has a recess (28) provided in a region of the grip body. One of the polystyrene foam elements (12) is reinforced in a region of the grip body. Inner sides of the polystyrene foam elements support a cook top on a glass ceramic cover plate (30).
