<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for making a tunnel boring machine arrive at an arrival shaft, which facilitates the removal of a filler, and which enables the presence or absence of confined ground water and its confined condition to be detected before the removal of the filler. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A partition wall 7 is installed at a predetermined spacing inward from an inner peripheral surface 6 of an arrival pit mouth 5 in the arrival shaft 1. A steel frame 8 is installed in such a manner as to surround an outer periphery between the inner peripheral surface 6 and the partition wall 7. The filler 9, which is in a solid state at a normal temperature in the arrival shaft 1 and which is put into a fluid state when the temperature reaches a predetermined temperature higher than the normal one, is infilled into the steel frame 8 between the inner peripheral surface 6 and the partition wall 7.
