<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a determination device accurately determining failure of an intake air volume sensor and an atmospheric pressure sensor even in an operation state including transition and surely determining the failure even during emission mode traveling. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The determination device includes the intake air volume sensor, a means calculating a fuel injection quantity from intake air volume, a means calculating an air-fuel ratio correction amount based on an air-fuel ratio of exhaust gas, respective sensors respectively detecting an accelerator valve opening degree, engine rotation speed, intake air temperature and atmospheric pressure, a means obtaining a reference intake pipe pressure from the accelerator valve opening degree and engine rotation speed, a means controlling a throttle valve opening degree from the reference intake pipe pressure, intake air temperature and engine rotation speed so that the reference intake pipe pressure is attained, a means obtaining an estimated intake pipe pressure from the intake air volume, and a means comparing the reference intake pipe pressure and the estimated intake pipe pressure and determining failure of the intake air volume sensor.
