<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a colored rubber chip wherein a ground color of a rubber chip material is not visually checked in a colored layer that is clearly colored, and to provide a method for producing the colored rubber chip. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The colored rubber chip 9 is colored with a substrate colored layer 6, wherein the surface of the rubber chip material 1 having an L* value of <50 in the L*a*b* color system of the ground color is colored with a substrate color with a pigment having a specific lightness; and a finishing colored layer 7 colored with a finishing color with a pigment having a lightness of a smaller L* value than that of the substrate color in the upper layer of the substrate colored layer 6. The method for producing the colored rubber chip 9 includes a substrate treating step A of coloring the substrate colored layer 6 with the pigment 3 of the substrate color having the specific lightness on the surface of the rubber chip material 1, wherein the ground color is black; and a finishing treating step B of coloring the finishing colored layer 7 with the pigment 5 of the finishing color having the lightness of the smaller L* value in the L*a*b* color system than that of the substrate color in the upper layer of the substrate colored layer 6 colored in the substrate treating step A.
