<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a grommet mounting tool capable of reducing the burden on an operator in a narrow part at the car body bottom whereto an ordinary tool cannot be used and executing the work to mount a grommet on a shift arm quickly and accurately. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The grommet mounting tool is to mount each grommet 3 of cylindrical shape in a circular hole 4a formed in a flat, thick plate 4, the grommet 3 being formed so that its peripheral wall is tapered from both end faces toward the axis of the cylinder and furnished with a groove 3a having a prescribed width and depth. The grommet mounting tool is a grommet holder 1 composed of a cylindrical cap 1a to hold the grommet 3 and having a female threaded portion 1c at the bottom surface and a shank 1d having a prescribed length. Further the grommet mounting tool comprises a cylindrical cap 2a for inserting the grommet and a grommet inserting tool 2 having, in the inner center, a male threaded portion 2c to be thread-engaged with the female threaded portion 1c.
