The drum-type washing machine is equipped with a suspension part (31), which elastically supports, in a washing machine outer frame (30), an outer tub (33) that houses a washing and spinning tub (34); a suspension position setting part (57), which sets the position of the suspension part (31); a state detection part (61), which detects the state of the outer tub (33); and a control part (39), which controls the suspension position setting part (57). The control part (39) sets the position of the suspension part (31) according to the output of the state detection part (61).
