The seat fastener (10) has a carrier (12) stably attached with a motor vehicle base. A seat clamp (16) is connected with a motor vehicle seat and is inserted into a retaining opening (14) of the carrier. The seat clamp is moved from an insert position to a mounting position within the carrier so that the seat clamp partially surrounds a part of the carrier. A stabilizing element (28) is provided between the seat clamp and the carrier in the mounting position for increasing a pressing surface (30) at the carrier during crash of a motor vehicle.
