SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR GUARANTEEING QUALITY OF MULTIMEDIA TRANSMISSION SERVICE USING NEXT GENERATION SIGNALING PROTOCOL

PURPOSE: A method for guaranteeing the quality of a multimedia transmission service using a next generation signaling protocol and a system thereof are provided to minimize delay time due to resetting of a resource reservation path after handoff by searching a crossover node and resetting partial resource reservation path before handoff. CONSTITUTION: Before handoff, a searching message of a crossover node for resource prior reservation is received from a moving node(100). The crossover node is searched. A temporary reservation path is set between a new AR(Access Router)(310) and the crossover node of a mobile network. At a handoff completion point of the moving node, the temporary reservation path is activated. Status information about existing resource reservation path is updated. The moving node cancels a resource reservation path between an existing AR(210) and the crossover node before handoff.
