Disclosed is a laminated piezoelectric element, which comprises holders but needs no buffer member between the holders and a laminate, thereby reducing the breakage of piezoelectric layers to acquire satisfactory durability and long reliability. The laminated piezoelectric element (1) is manufactured by mounting an upper holder (6) and a lower holder (7) on a laminate (2). The laminate (2) is made by a plurality of laminating piezoelectric layers (3), and a plurality of flat-shaped positive electrodes (4) and negative electrodes (5) which are alternately arranged with the piezoelectric layers (3) being sandwiched inbetween. The upper holder (6) includes a flat plate (6a) covering the upper face of the laminate (2), and a side face (6b) extending along the side of the laminate (2). The lower holder (7) includes a flat plate (7a) covering the lower face of the laminate (2), and a side face (7b) extending along the side of the laminate (2). No buffer member is needed between the laminate (2) and the upper and lower holders (6 and 7), and the displacement and deformation to occur in the laminate (2) are hardly obstructed so that the laminated piezoelectric element can have excellent piezoelectric characteristics such as sensitivities to fine vibrations or pressures and can be excellent in the durability and the long reliability.
