<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrode which operates in a very low current density and in a state of maximum concentration polarity. <P>SOLUTION: The electrode for fuel cell element (120, 130) includes: a hydrophobic graphite support layer (102); a half-hydrophobic electrocatalyst layer (104) which contains an electrocatalyst active material in the carbon substrate and a polytetrafluoro-ethylene (PTFE) portion having a first concentration; and a hydrophilic electrocatalyst layer (106) which contains the electrocatalyst active material in the carbon substrate and has the PTFE portion having a second concentration lower than the first concentration. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
