PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal spraying material evaluation sample preparation device capable of preparing a sample hardly generating dispersion in a test result. SOLUTION: A thermal spray lance 11 is held slidably by a holding member 12, and the thermal spray lance 11 is reciprocated along a sliding direction B relative to the holding member 12 by action of a connection mechanism 13. For example, an operator grips a handle 136 provided on a coupling part between the first connection member 131 and the second connection member 132, and moves circularly the handle 136, to thereby reciprocate the thermal spray lance 11. Hereby, dispersion is hardly generated in the shape, state or the like of a sample prepared by the thermal spraying material jetted out from a jetting hole of the thermal spray lance 11 in comparison with a conventional case where an operator reciprocates the thermal spray lance directly manually, and thereby a sample hardly generating dispersion in the test result can be prepared.
