摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a workpiece support device that easily and accurately grips a workpiece and performs chucking while preventing the center of the workpiece from being deviated without executing alignment in a rotation direction even if there is a cutout part in the outer circumference of the workpiece in an externally clamping method. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The workpiece support device is configured such that a plurality of gripping pawls 5' are circumferentially arranged so as to grip the outer circumference of a workpiece W when the gripping pawls 5' are closed in a contracting manner. In the workpiece support device, each gripping pawl 5' is configured such that each relief part C is partially formed at both edge parts of its workpiece gripping face B. In order to grip the outer circumference of the workpiece W by forming an annular workpiece gripping face with all of the gripping pawls while overlapping each relief part of the gripping pawls, adjacent to each other, with each other at least when the gripping pawls 5' are closed in a contracting manner.
