PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method for actualizing a plasma display panel which has high-definition and high-brightness display performance and low power consumption. SOLUTION: Provided is a method for manufacturing a plasma display panel protection layer configured by forming a base film on a dielectric layer and adhering a plurality of crystal grains composed of a metal oxide on the base film so that the crystal grains are distributed over the entire surface. The method has an applying step of applying the crystal grains over the entire surface, and the applying step has a transfer step of rising only when simultaneously transferring a plurality of front substrates and lowering when the transfer is completed, an aligning step of aligning by rising when simultaneously aligning the front substrates, and a printing step of fixing the aligned front substrates and printing the films composed of the crystal grains on predetermined areas.
