<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the insert posture of a terminal fitting from inclining. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The connector 10 includes a terminal fitting 20 connected to a terminal end of an electric wire 90 and a housing 30 having a cavity 31 to which the terminal fitting 20 can be inserted, and a lance 34 for engagingly locking the terminal fitting 20 regularly inserted into the cavity 31 is flexibly provided on the inner wall of the cavity 31 in the housing 30. A flexible elastic piece 41 is provided also on the inner surface of the cavity 31 in the housing 30 separately from the lance 34. A retainer 50 is installed to the housing 30, and the retainer 50 includes a presser part 55 which forcedly presses the elastic piece 41 toward the terminal fitting 20 by the regular installation to the housing 30.
