Disclosed is a substance which can achieve immunomodulation through a mechanism that is different from those of conventional TLR ligands. Specifically disclosed are: a fusion molecule comprising a caspase recruitment domain and a nuclear localization signal; a pharmaceutical composition, an immunomodulating agent, a vaccine adjuvant, an anti-allergic agent and an anti-cancer agent each comprising the fusion molecule; and an immunomodulating agent, a vaccine adjuvant and an anti-allergic agent each comprising a substance capable of acting as an agonist or antagonist of an innate immune signaling through nuclear DNA helicase II.
