The method involves introducing electrolytes into an intersection area (2) of an injection channel, such that the electrolytes are conveyed to separating electrodes. An electrical voltage is applied to the electrodes to form an electrical field between the electrodes to move cations and anions of analytes towards the respective electrodes, such that a spatial separation of the cations and the anions takes place. The cations and the anions are analyzed by respective measuring cells e.g. charge-coupled device sensors, arranged along separating channels (11, 12). An independent claim is also included for a device for spatial separation and analysis of anions and cations.
