Provided is a data processing device which can reduce the time required for state transition control.  The data processing device has such a state transition that the current state can be switched to another state.  The data processing device includes: a calculation unit (20) which performs a data calculation process; and a control unit (10) having a state management unit (101) which executes a state transition control for the calculation performed by the calculation unit (20).  The state management unit (101) uses determinate transition information indicating a determinate transmission state whether the state transition is determinate.  If yes, the state management unit (101) starts a state transition control of the next state before the calculation concerning the current state in the calculation unit (20) is complete.
