An apparatus for sampling potentials on a surface, e.g. the body of an animal, comprises a rectangular array of sensor circuits 2. Each sensor has an electrode 4 which contacts the potential-bearing surface and an electrode 6 which contacts a conductive plate 8, and includes an AND gate which, when enabled, passes the potential at electrode 4 to electrode 8. The gate is enabled by pulses on the row conductor 10 and column conductor 12 to which it is connected. The conductors are energized by shift register counters to enable the sensors in successive rows successively. The succession of potentials appearing on plate 8 are displayed on a C.R.T., or may be converted to digital form and stored prior to processing and recording. |
