PURPOSE: A light guide body and a line shape light source apparatus are provided to prevent black stripe effect of read image by constituting a reflecting surface of a groove part in a knurling groove with a first reflecting surface and a second reflecting surface. CONSTITUTION: A reflection face(6) is side face of a light intake unit of each groove part(7). A light transmission face(10) is the side of the smoothing face. The reflection face is composed of a first reflecting surface and a second reflecting surface. The second reflecting surface is formed in the axial end part of the first reflecting surface. A light(A1) has a large incidence angle to the light intake unit and is reflected on the reflection face of a knurling groove.
