The method involves representing a submenu with a key display or a cursor selection during selection of a program contribution from a program contribution overview. A control circuit effects the recording according to a program recording time after selection within a submenu. A title of stored program contribution is displayed in an overview by actuation of archival key on a control unit. A desired reproduction is achieved by a cursor selection and/or by actuation of a reproduction key on the control unit.
