The device has a handle and a head (1) that is connected to the handle. Mouth care elements e.g. cleaning bristle and/or cleaning elastomer elements, are provided on the head. An electrically operable functional element e.g. LED, is arranged on an outer surface (4) of the head. A ramp (5) is provided adjacent to the functional element. The functional element is arranged adjacent to and/or between the mouth care elements. The ramp and the head are extruded from the same plastic components. The ramp and the functional element are formed from a single piece. The ramp is made of a flexible plastic i.e. elastomer.
